Welcome to the digital catalog of the Ethnological Museum of Thrace’s library!

In response to the necessity to preserve historical memory and cultural heritage, the Ethnological Museum of Thrace has developed a significant collection of books, printed materials, and audiovisual media that capture and promote the cultural heritage of Thrace.

From the beginning of its operation, the library has prioritized local and folk tradition, folklore, and archaeology. Historical books and studies documenting local history from antiquity to the present form the core of the collection. At the same time, encyclopedic knowledge is available to support educational and research needs, as well as the preparation of academic work and studies.

Specifically, the library’s collection includes:

  • Greek and foreign language books on various subjects
  • Historical books and dissertations from different educational institutions
  • Local publications, books, and scientific journals
  • Rare documents and publications
  • Reference materials (encyclopedias, dictionaries, maps, guides, bibliographies)
  • Greek and foreign language novels
  • Preschool books, children’s literature, and young adult novels
  • Collections of fairy tales and poetry
  • Audiovisual media (DVDs, CDs)

The library's collection is continuously updated and currently includes over 5000 volumes and 25 scientific journals.

At present, the library’s materials are available for on-site use only, as lending is not yet possible.
